Alfred Hitchcock Exposition at the MIS
Movie buffs are already counting down the days. In the second half of July an exhibition on Alfred Hitchcock, the great master of suspense movies and one of the most memorable directors in film history, will open at the MIS (Museum of Image and Sound).
André Sturm, former director of the MIS and the current Secretary of Culture of São Paulo, speaks with enthusiasm about the new project, which he will curate. It will not be an exhibition of objects, like the popular Tim Burton and David Bowie exhibitions that were held at the MIS.
Sturm wants to capture the essence of Hitchcock and share the concept of his work in the twelve rooms that will reproduce movie sets. Among the feature films chosen are Rope, Rear Window and North by Northwest. “Psycho, of course, will be the grand finale,” says Sturm.
The exhibition rooms will feature storyboards, photos, letters and texts by Hitchcock. Objects, like the wig or skeleton from Psycho, will not be the objective of the exhibition. According to Sturm, the museum is working on virtual auctions to offer precious relics of the filmmaker, such as letters.
As the exhibition will be a Brazilian creation, he does not rule out the possibility of bringing it to other countries.

One Direction (sometimes abbreviated as 1D) is a pop boyband that began in London, United Kingdom, in 2010. Currently, the group is composed of Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan. The original group included Zayn Malik, who officially announced his departure from the group in March of 2015. The quintet was formed after the members participated in the reality show The X Factor as solo contenders until, during the show, the singer Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell joined them to compete as a group.
ANGRA SHOW WILL COMMEMORATE THEIR CAREER
2018 marks the beginning of yet another era in Angra’s history. With 26 years playing together, the band shows will and strength like never before. Not even the often-uncertain trajectory was able to deter the focus, determination and inspiration of the quintet led by Rafael Bittencourt, and composed of members Felipe Andreoli (bass), Fabio Lione (vocals), Marcelo Barbosa (guitar) and Bruno Valverde (drums). ØMNI is Angra’s 9th studio album- the result of months of intense dedication, sweat and blood. The band will give an exclusive presentation in São Paulo of the new album, as well as other hits, in a special show on July 21 at Tom Brasil.
The album was also recorded in Sweden with the same producer, Jens Bogren, who produced the previous album (Secret Garden) and has the same chemistry of three years ago. The music, while very contemporary, has an organic quality and respects the different nuances and dynamics of each instrument. Among the various guest musicians, we can highlight Arch Enemy’s vocalist Alissa White-Gluz and Brazilian singer Sandy, who bring their unique and different vocal styles to the track “Black Widow’s Web”. Different musical traditions were involved in the process, from the percussion of Bahia to orchestral arrangements from Europe, and these give the album its different and important textures.
