INTERNATIONAL BOOK BIENNIAL
The São Paulo International Book Biennial, which takes place between August 3 and 12 at the Anhembi, has announced international authors for this 25th edition of the event, who will grace the Cultural Arena, the venue’s largest space with a capacity of over 400 people.
The Biennial is curated by the Brazilian Book Chamber in an alliance with the publishers partnering in the event. The US author, Victoria Aveyard, obtained international recognition with the Red Queen (Rainha Vermelha) novel series that has already sold over 400,000 copies in Brazil and will be adapted for the cinema by director Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games (Jogos Vorazes).
Soman Chainani is the creator of a series of children’s books, The School for Good and Evil (A Escola do Bem e do Mal), while Israeli writer Yoav Blum saw his first novel, The Coincidence Makers (Os Criadores de Coincidências), published in 2017 in Brazil and the rights to the work have already been acquired for the cinema. Lastly, between Mister O and Big Rock, author Lauren Blakely has already written fourteen best-sellers in which she tells stories from the point of view of male characters.
Over 25 years, the São Paulo Biennial Book Fair has hosted names like Harlan Coben, Cassandra Clare, Lucinda Riley and Kiera Cass. This edition of the event promises an extensive cultural program in exclusive thematic spaces, as well as the participation of several other writers.

Anima Mundi has become an animation platform that offers experiences for animators, educators, producers and, of course, anime maniacs. Our initiatives include the Itinerant Anima Mundi, the Anima School project, courses on animation and content distribution using various media. It is a festival that intensely celebrates the language for creating new dreams and projects hitherto unimagined realities for human beings: Animation. This was the idea behind the creation of the Anima Mundi Festival way back in 1993.

ROCK SPIRIT is Brazil’s largest open-air cinema festival and is now in its eighth edition. The event screens the best adventure documentaries recently produced in Brazil and worldwide, in the open air and for free. A veritable outdoor experience! Mountain bike, surfing, climbing, and the environment, outdoor life: everything making up the outdoor universe and which challenges how we see the world finds space at the festival, which is showing worldwide launches – directly from the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival, the most prestigious adventure film festival in the United States – as well as new Brazilian productions. This year, in addition to the films, Rock Spirit is offering shows, chats, sporting activities, an organics fair and much more. The festival is organized by Rocky Mountain Sports Content, responsible for the brands Go Outside, Hardcore, Runner’s World, Bicycling and Women’s Health.

4th RADIO NOVA BRASIL FESTIVAL
Continuing with the project that offers the best of modern Brazilian music, a Rádio Nova Brasil FM is holding this Saturday, August 17, the fourth edition of its festival, and lining up some of the leading names in MPB at the Arena Anhembi.
For this edition, the radio station promises a night full of joy and fun, with the most recent tours of the artistes, with golden oldies and new releases for an audience estimated at 20,000 people. The stage of the five hour-long festival will welcome Djavan, Jota Quest, Nando Reis, Luiza Possi and Oswaldo Montenegro.
The São Paulo International Short Film Festival – Curta Kinoforum is one of the world’s largest and most traditional events dedicated to short movies, and its purpose is the exchange between Brazilian and international production. With its cultural and non-competitive character, the Festival exhibits films that that contribute to the development of short films, their language, specific format and how they are produced.
The 29th São Paulo International Short Film Festival – Curta Kinoforum will be held in São Paulo between August 22 and September 2, 2018.
The DW! São Paulo Design Weekend is an urban festival that seeks to promote the culture of design and its connections with architecture, art, decoration, urbanism, social inclusion, business and technological innovation.
It involves a series of independent and simultaneous events integrated by an official program. DW! includes talks in educational institutions, guided tours of galleries and ateliers, exhibitions, installations, artistic and urban interventions, thematic circuits, competitions, parties and product launches in stores and showrooms.
